What if that could happen in only five years in the future?
Amazon has come out with the all-new "octocopter". The octocopter is an unmanned aerial vehicle that looks like a toy helicopter. Last Sunday, the online retailer revealed its plans for Prime Air, their new delivery service that will use the drones (a.k.a. the "octocopter") Prime shipping also offers free shipping for a flat annual fee.
The reason that it will take five years for these robot droids to be possible is because of certain federal rules. These rules are set by the Federal Aviation Administration. Some of these rules include allowing unrestricted access to airways for aerial vehicles (airplanes, jets, etc)
"The type of flights Bezos proposed are currently not allowed. Unlike some other drones currently used, these would be autonomous -- they would fly without a pilot." ~ Gregory Wallace, CNN NewsEven better, Amazon reports that their drones are capable of holding products under five pounds, which is amazing because 90% of their products are under five pounds.
What do you think of this creation? Hot or not?
