This World Will Be Reborn in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!

2014 is coming in (however many for you) hours!!
A new year is for new times, new goals, new opinions, and new chances. The past year has been a great (but stressful) 12 months.

  2013 started off with the stress of my math finals and state tests coming up in a few months looming over my head. I was successfully able to focus on my education and pass both finals with outstanding achievement, even though it took me loads of studying for it.

On the topic of relationships, it was a tough year. I became closer with certain best friends, stopped talking to certain other best friends. The stress from school had pushed me so much that my dependancy on music had become even more apparent. I'd started to spend much of my free time listening to my music to calm me down or help me not continue my slighty-harmful habits (I'd rather not elaborate on that). My sudden change in music tastes surprised my close friends and family. For some, they easily accepted the change while others had a very hard time with it.

   Unfortunately, I'd made a choice to break the relationship between me and the people who weren't able to accept it. I'm sad to say I lost very great people, but I'm happy that I'd broken relationships that could've hurt me in the future.

   A new year of high school is making me excited to meet new people and have new experiences and I'm happy of the new chance I have in my life.

Hey beautiful! Guess what? It's that time of year again...It's Christmas! It's New Years! It might even be your birthday like mine! 

For me, Christmas is a wonderful time of the year. No matter how young you are, no matter how old you are, you will always feel a sense of unity, happiness, and wonder as you gaze up at that Christmas tree decorated with lights and stars. I don't think you need to have the Christmas Spirit to be able to enjoy the holidays. You don't need that White Christmas so many songs talk about. All you need is those Kaleidoscope Eyes to look at the world as a place of miracles instead of a black-and-white color palette.

New Year's Inspiration: May you never forget what is worth remembering nor ever remember what is best forgotten

     Up until now, few things have inspired me to do something other than finish my homework, finish my projects, and get off my lazy bum sitting on the couch watching Doctor Who, so here I am, sitting in front of my computer to start a project due after Christmas Break....

     Really though, I'm not doing anything in life right now, but I was browsing Tumblr today (as a normally do to procrastinate working) and came across this amazing quote that just blew my mind.

 

 Well, this really isn't inspirational, but I really liked the quote/saying (and the picture itself is beautiful). To me, if this was up on my wall, I would definitely be able to start the day with a clean, fresh, and happy mind. This quote is all about dwelling on the things you need to and burying the things in your past you don't need. Certain events made you stronger, so remember your strength, not your weakness.

     This New Years, 2014, call up an old friend and reminisce, go to your favorite coffee shop that you haven't been to in years, or even try something new with the people you love! Forget that grudge you've been holding for three years, stop stalking your ex's Facebook profile to see how his new relationship is doing, and for God's sake cross out his face in all the pictures on your wall. 

     Oh, and one more thing, go inspire someone else.

Challenge: Try making these 10 easy and creative drawings!!

What would you do to make a person smile with only some food, a notebook, a plier, a floppy disk and a SIM card?

 

Challenge: I want to see how many of you can gather up your materials and make these 10 quick drawings!!

1. Use two Doritos are bows (rather than food? I think not!!)
2. Use the spiral in a spiral drawing book as the teeth for a dinosaur (thankfully its jaws are sewn shut now)
3. Use grapes as balloons (and fly away into the sunset)
4. Use Lincoln's head on a penny as an actual head (do you think he would be offended?)
5. Use two pop-tabs/pull-tabs as butterfly wings (ok now this is just plain cool)
6. Use two oranges as your lungs (now wouldn't that be fun!)
7. Use a paperclip as the body for a trumpet (that is a trumpet right?)
8. Use the pencil sharpener shavings as mountains (I wonder what that would do to the tunnels)
9. Use a plier as the clothes for a person (ok, he needs bones in his legs... and let's hope no one needs that plier anytime soon!!)
10. Use a floppy disk as the parent and a SIM card as the kid (if only we could all be that thin...)

Robot Droids Soon To Be At Your Doorstep?

Do you think that in ten to twenty years in the future, robots will be able to deliver small packages straight to your doorstep? Do you think that you will open your door, to see a mini robot hovering in the air, holding a package that you ordered to be delivered?

What if that could happen in only five years in the future?

Amazon has come out with the all-new "octocopter". The octocopter is an unmanned aerial vehicle that looks like a toy helicopter. Last Sunday, the online retailer revealed its plans for Prime Air, their new delivery service that will use the drones (a.k.a. the "octocopter") Prime shipping also offers free shipping for a flat annual fee.

The reason that it will take five years for these robot droids to be possible is because of certain federal rules. These rules are set by the Federal Aviation Administration. Some of these rules include allowing unrestricted access to airways for aerial vehicles (airplanes, jets, etc)

"The type of flights Bezos proposed are currently not allowed. Unlike some other drones currently used, these would be autonomous -- they would fly without a pilot." ~ Gregory Wallace, CNN News

Even better, Amazon reports that their drones are capable of holding products under five pounds, which is amazing because 90% of their products are under five pounds.

I'm listening to the radio on the way home from school last year, and a Nickleback song starts to play.

If today was your last day

That got me thinking, if today was my last day, would I be ready to leave? Would I know that I did something good with my life? I still have more than half of my life to do something good, but ignoring that...

I realized, that I hadn't done anything remotely significant in my life. Sure, I'd helped someone pick up his books in the hallway, or helped someone study for a test, but I'd barely helped anyone. It gave me the courage to wake up the next morning with a set goal: make someone happy. Doing this one simple act made me feel great about myself. It made me happy that I'd been able to put a smile on someone else's face.

I'm including the lyrics to the song in this post, and I hope it does for you what it did for me. Inspire.
